In a year when the financial markets are facing the challenge of a large number of new initiatives in response to the international financial crisis, including proposals for supervision of securities and markets, crisis management and capital requirements, the ICMA conference focused on the changing regulatory framework and its impact on both buy and sell sides of the global markets.

 

The ICMA conference, as in previous years, offered delegates insights into the current thinking of official industry representatives, central banks and market participants on the state of the financial system, through presentations, expert panels and opportunities for informal contacts.

The ICMA AGM and Conference was open to ICMA members and other financial market participants.
